I am pretty interested in self-reflection, or metacognition. I am deeply invested in interrogation of self and world-through-self. It crux of my engagements and especially my relationship to painting.  I am very interested in embodied cognition—how my body and consciousness store, interpret, remember information and how it is conjured up when presented with blank space, color, and seemingly infinite opportunities. I want to evoke experiences and emotions beyond what is immediately intelligible—experiences and emotions that are maybe hard to name or to categorize. I would like the work to do something to bring a viewer in touch with the space that language may not do justice for—a space that insists on fluidity, constant reformation, and heightened visceral perception. My practice with these arts, defy mind/body dualism and other dualisms. I am learning what it's all about still; I am learning how to speak about it. That learning will continue. Etc, etc, etc.
